How long can you keep brewed coffee? Start counting !

2024 11/15

A good day always starts with a cup of delicious coffee, but how long do we usually need to finish the remaining coffee? Under what conditions can the coffee be stored to be safe for drinking? Let's explore this issue together! The most common types of coffee brewed by individuals are black coffee, cold brew coffee, instant coffee, etc. They all have different tastes and flavors.

black coffee

Black coffee

The main ingredients of black coffee are water and coffee extract, and it does not contain additives such as milk, sugar, and cream.

Black coffee exudes a strong coffee aroma, including fruity, floral, chocolate, and nutty aromas. These aromas are produced by volatile compounds in coffee beans during the roasting process. The aroma varies with the degree of roasting. Lightly roasted coffee beans have a fresher aroma with fruity and floral aromas; deeply roasted coffee beans have a stronger aroma with the taste of chocolate and nuts.

The caffeine in black coffee can stimulate the central nervous system, keep people awake and alert, and improve attention and reaction speed. Caffeine can promote fat decomposition, increase energy consumption, and help lose weight. In addition, black coffee can promote gastrointestinal motility and relieve constipation.

Black coffee is usually best consumed within 1 hour after brewing. If black coffee is placed in a heat-insulating container, it can delay the cooling of the coffee and the change of flavor to a certain extent. In this case, the drinking time can be appropriately extended, but it is also best to finish drinking it within about 1 hour. If you take out the refrigerated black coffee, you should drink it as soon as possible and not leave it for too long. At the same time, refrigerated coffee should not be heated again to avoid affecting the taste and health.

Instant coffee

Instant coffee

Instant coffee is a dry coffee extract obtained by evaporating the water in the coffee extract, which is made into powder or granules for easy storage, transportation and quick brewing.

The biggest feature of instant coffee is convenience and speed. Just pour the instant coffee powder or granules into the cup, add hot or cold water and stir evenly to drink. No complicated brewing equipment and skills are required, suitable for drinking at home, office, travel and other occasions.

The packaging of instant coffee is usually small and light, easy to carry and store. You can enjoy the delicious coffee anytime and anywhere.

Under normal circumstances, at room temperature (about 25℃), the brewed instant coffee should not be placed for more than 2 hours. If it is stored in a sealed container at room temperature, the placement time can be slightly extended, about 3-4 hours. If you take out the refrigerated coffee from the refrigerator, you should drink it as soon as possible, and it is not advisable to put it back in the refrigerator to avoid accelerated deterioration. At the same time, refrigerated coffee should not be overheated to avoid affecting the taste.
